6 Ways To Speed Up The MacBook For Free
We all know that the installation of 4 GB of RAM can speed up a MacBook and do all the experience that bit smoother and faster - but what can you do now will speed up your FREE packet and joy and to keep their users happy ? I'll tell you six things that will help.
1. Delete files from your desktop
Every time the OS X support it will index the content on your desktop, create thumbnail icons for each file and catalog the contents of each folder.
Do yourself a favor and move these files to the files they belong in. This will increase the speed at which their office expenses and therefore make faster the MacBook.
2. Remove unwanted applications to start
Go to System Preferences and User Accounts. See the list of programs that have been set to start against your user name and remove (uncheck) all that you do not need more.
It's nice to have iChat start automatically - but not essential.
You can view a list of applications running in the background with the high command in the terminal window or the Activity Monitor application.
3. Remove a Dashboard
This is my favorite "speed" patch for MacBook and it works perfectly every time. OS X dashboard is fine if you use all the time, but each of these little widgets and Swish Web clips are from memory - and you can not even see them unless you ask!
You can remove the dashboard to open the Terminal application and type the following command:
MCX com.apple.dashboard defaults write-disabled-boolean YES
You can restart the MacBook or enter the following command in the terminal window:
killall Dock
If you lose your time widgets and stock information, you can reverse the order by pressing:
defaults write com.apple.dashboard MCX-disabled-boolean NO
And again, reboot or type:
killall Dock
Remove the fourth PRAM (MacBook Intel only) Restart the computer while holding down the Command + Option + P + R keys together. Do not stop until you hear the startup chime three or four times.
This is not the proper way to accelerate the MacBook, but it will kill all the Gremlins, who have worked their way into non-volatile RAM settings. I noticed that seemed to allow the MacBook to the Quick Launch.
5. Disable UAP (MacBook Pro and Air)
You can use this method to remove non-volatile RAM and MacBook product configuration. Although it will not make your MacBook suddenly jump in the speed mode, get rid of all the settings wrong and adjustment problems.
